Are you ready for this treatment?
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy involves much more time and effort than regular talk therapy. When you begin this process, you can expect a few things:
- Weekly commitment (required) For optimal results, weekly attendance is required at the start. With the progression of treatment, sessions can become more spaced out.
- "Homework" Your therapist will give you things to work on throughout the week as part of the treatment process.
- Exposure work It is likely that in your treatment process there will be exposure work. Exposure work is unique to each case and is developed with your therapist.
- Length of treatment is different person-to-person, but generally, treatment lasts between 3 months and one year.
